The “Greek Living Earth” project officially launched – Kick-off meeting held in Ioannina

On Friday, May 23, 2025, the first official meeting of the “Greek Living Earth” project partners took place at the University of Ioannina. It was a key moment when the team – in person and online – came together, introduced themselves, and laid the foundation for a promising joint journey.

Decisions that matter

During the meeting:

  • The project logo was selected via vote, symbolizing the connection between technology and the land.
  • The domain name greeklivingearth was secured (.gr, .com, and .eu), and the bilingual website will soon be available.
  • Partner roles were finalized, and a reallocation of the budget was approved without altering the total amount.

First deliverables underway

The implementation phase is now in motion. Among the first actions:

  • The Data Management Plan is being shaped, focusing on metadata and international interoperability standards.
  • Work has begun on system architecture design, AI tool development, and the data management platform.
  • Preparation of pilot fields and sensor deployment is in progress, enabling real-time data collection.
