During the implementation of the project, and with the necessary institutional approval, the digital infrastructure will be hosted on the University’s \u201cDioni\u201d high-performance computing cluster, ensuring long-term service availability and operational sustainability. Additional support will be provided through existing and newly acquired servers from both participating universities.<\/p>\n

The University of Ioannina conducts research across all disciplines covered by its departments and faculties. It operates a Special Account for Research Funds (ELKE), responsible for managing and utilizing research, education, training, technology development, and innovation resources. ELKE coordinates and supports all externally funded research projects, overseen by the University\u2019s Research Committee and its Financial and Administrative Services.<\/p>\n

The purpose of ELKE is to manage and allocate funds from any source\u2014including internal resources\u2014to support the implementation of research, training, development, and service projects, such as studies, testing, laboratory analyses, expert reports, and scientific consulting. Emphasis is placed on interdisciplinary applied research programs that respond to the needs of the Greek industry, economy, and society. Funding is secured through national and EU programs (e.g., NSRF 2007\u20132013, NSRF 2014\u20132020, Territorial Cooperation Programs, FP6, FP7, HORIZON 2020), as well as the private sector.
